At this experimental Shabbat service, some of our prayers will be accompanied by musical instrumentation, as a way to lend a different experience to our worship. As our community continues to explore different ways to study and celebrate on Shabbat, we hope you join in for our periodic Shabbat mornings with music, and offer your feedback about your experiences. This musical experiment is the result of a task force that met last spring. Feel free to reach out to Rabbi Darby with any questions.

In 1982, a handful of dedicated men and women met in Barbara Ribakove Gordon’s New York apartment to organize the North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry (NACOEJ). Today, under her leadership, NACOEJ has some 50,000 supporters and a record of having rescued thousands of Ethiopian Jews from famine, civil war and persecution.
