Volunteers are needed to fill all shifts: evening coordinator, dinner prep, evening activities as well as overnighters. Who can volunteer? Students home on vacation, retirees, families with young kids and regular working folks. If you’ll be out of town that week please consider a donation to cover the purchase of essentials. Help a Child Attend Camp JRF This Summer!
Jewish Camp provides an extraordinary environment for Jewish socialization . . . it is the number one transformative activity for Jewish children. -- How Goodly Are Thy Tents: Summer Camps as Jewish Socializing Experiences, Brandeis University Study, 2003More than 75 children are in need of scholarships for Camp JRF this summer. Our goal is to make it possible for every Jewish child to participate in the life-changing Jewish experience that Camp JRF provides, regardless of his or her family’s circumstances. For many Jewish families the enriching experience of Jewish overnight camp is cost prohibitive. We ask you to join us in making Camp JRF available this summer to as many Jewish children as possible. This year we are seeking $75,000 in gifts to meet the scholarship needs of those children who have expressed a desire to attend Camp JRF, but whose families lack the financial resources. The cost per week for a child to participate at Camp JRF is approximately $1,000. (The entire camp season is 7 weeks.) Our goal is to have 320 campers this year. Your gift to the Camp JRF Scholarship Fund can be made in honor of a member of your family who strongly believes in building Jewish identity or in memory of a loved one. Your generosity is an investment whose return is beyond measure. You can help make it affordable for a family to send a child to camp and, in turn, impact Jewish continuity and instill the joy of Judaism for generations to come. To make a donation online, visit www.campjrf.org by choosing “Campers” and then clicking the “Donate Now” button, or contact Barry Nove, director of development, (215) 885-5601 ext 19.
